Hello! My name is Eric Zissman and I am a Junior here at the Pitt Business majoring in Accounting, Data Analytics, and Business Information Systems. I am from Princeton, NJ (about 5 hours east!). On campus I am a teaching assistant for Analytics I, part of a social fraternity, and have a strong passion for professional development and networking on campus. This past summer, I was a Summer Accounting Analyst for the University working for Student Affairs. This upcoming summer, I will be at Deloitte as an audit intern in the Pittsburgh Office downtown!
Plus3 Germany
Deciding to study abroad was an easy decision as I move into my final year here at Pitt Business. Being an internal transfer into the CBA, I feared that I would not have the time to pursue some of my goals within college (one of them being study abroad). Germany was the perfect option as I was still able to study abroad while maintaining my internship for this summer. Having a strong passion for the automotive industry, this study abroad also peaked my interests. The company visits alongside the constant cultural experiences we will be on will deepen my understanding for the industry and the country. I think immersing yourself in a new culture and learning new things is especially important from a business standpoint as it becomes more global.
Being able to travel to a new country while expanding business knowledge, networking, and learning about Germany is the perfect combination for a study abroad. I am excited to see how things differ from the States in how day-to-day is conducted. Having the chance to learn some Germany history and cultural tips in class prior to leaving, I am excited to learn more while I am there navigating a foreign country. Germany will serve to educate and enlighten me academically, personally, and professionally. I am excited to embark on this journey and explore new opportunities!
