Hello everyone. I’m Tyler Cobb, a current first year Mechanical Engineering student and intend on minoring in Electric Engineering. Like most people from Pitt, I am front outside Philadelphia, Havertown PA if anyone was wondering. Some of my favorite hobbies are playing ultimate frisbee, golf, and skiing. I have been working at a local golf course for the past 5 years as a caddie, a summer camp counselor in West Virginia for one summer, and volunteer at my church. I have spent a lot of time in Pennsylvania and the surrounding states, and that’s why I am very excited to be traveling to Vietnam for my Plus3 program.
I have previously traveled to Europe and wanted to broaden my experiences abroad. Of the choices given, I really wanted to go somewhere I might never travel to again. Vietnam and South Korea were my top 2 choices. Hopefully I do have the opportunity to travel to South East Asia again, but I’m sure It’ll be an amazing experience. I specially chose the Plus3 program instead of another study abroad due to it’s shorter time abroad. I was unsure if a month or an entire semester abroad might be too much, so a two week period would be the perfect amount to determine if I want to do it again. I am very excited to broaden my cultural, business, and engineering perspectives in the future, and hope I can do it again! I can’t wait to travel to Vietnam and share my experiences with you all!
