Hello! My name is Caitlyn Grady and I am a first year Nursing student from West Chester PA. I am an active member in the University of Pittsburgh Nursing Student Association. After finishing my BSN, I hope to continue my education in anesthesiology by receiving my CRNA and DNP. I cannot wait to start clinicals next semester and I am greatly looking forward to ICU, ED and OR based rotations.
In my free time I enjoy exploring the city with friends, finding new food joints, and taking in the scenery. I am an avid skier and love to spend my winters on the slopes. When I am not at school, I enjoy baking and am currently working to perfect a fortune cookie recipe. This summer I am trying to learn how to make and alter my own clothes as well as learning how to drive stick shift.
This summer I will be participating in the Plus3 Argentina program which focuses on the globalization of healthcare and comparative health issues. as technology continues to advance, healthcare has been transitioning from a local to a more global setting. By working with other countries we may work to create a better, more efficient system through the help and input from other health care systems around the world. Argentina is the perfect example of healthcare globalization through their unique history rich in immigration, diversity, and foreign influence. By learning about the health care system in Argentina I can focus my work as a nurse into helping create an equitable system while also fostering inclusivity through the cultural lessons I hope to learn abroad. I look forward to exploring a new country and learning more about the culture of this beautiful region.
