Introduction -Savanna Zimmerman

Hi everyone! My name is Savanna Zimmerman, and I am a first-year student pursuing my BSN. I am from Hughesville MD, about 45 minutes from D.C. I am involved in NSA here at Pitt and I hope to be involved in more in the next upcoming years. After completing my BSN I hope to work as an ER/Trauma nurse and eventually pursue my master’s to be an NP.

Some things I enjoy doing are dancing, running, exercising, hanging out with my friends, listening to music, reading and writing. I also find it fun to enjoy new places and try new things! This summer I plan to spend most of my time working two jobs, and hanging out with my friends and family.

I chose to participate in the Plus3 Argentina program as a way to be able to not only expand my knowledge in global healthcare but to also immerse myself into a new culture while learning so much about it. I hope to see and experience so much as well as to gain a better understanding of comparisons between the United States healthcare systems and the Argentina healthcare system. I am excited to be able to have this opportunity and I hope I gain skills I can use in my future career as a nurse. I am also eager to learn about the business aspect of healthcare and the impacts it makes on the system. I am excited to see what this trip holds for me and looking forward to meeting new people, and learning new things
