I cannot believe that I am leaving for South Korea tomorrow. I have been thinking about this trip for months. I applied to this program in the fall, waited to hear back on Winter break, and took classes all spring. Now I am back on campus, anxiously awaiting to leave on my global experience. I had to say goodbye to friends and family for 2 weeks. I have never been away from Pittsburgh for that long. While there is still a lot of work to be done, I have done a lot to prepare for the trip.
I have done many things for the class as well as personally preparing. I have learned some Korean, completed all pre-departure projects, and packed way too much stuff. Some important items I had to pack were my 220-volt adapter, passport, and Korean won. The final item on that list was not easy to get. They were sold out at the airport, so I had to order through my bank. Apparently, a lot of people are going to Korea!
With how busy the end of the semester gets, South Korea has snuck up on me. It is easy to get lost and weary during finals week. Despite this, I could not be more excited about the opportunities that await me in South Korea. Notably, I am thrilled to see the Royal Palace, Bukhansen National Park, and much more. I know the food in Korea is going to be amazing and I cannot wait to try it all. I am grateful to everyone who has given me the opportunity to expand my worldview and knowledge through the Plus3 program. This experience will definitely help me further my business education on an international scale. Thus, helping me in my career in the future. I will see you soon Korea!
