Hi everyone! My name is Mia Falbo, and I have just finished my freshman year at Pitt. I am majoring in electrical engineering with a French language minor. In addition, I am interested in pursuing the Autonomous Systems concentration. I am not sure what I want to do after graduating, however I am considering a master’s degree in robotics.
Outside of class, I am involved in several clubs. Primarily, I am a dancer in Pitt Dance Ensemble and Ballet Club. I have been taking dance classes since I was five years old, so this was a great way for me to still pursue this passion. Additionally, I am part of the Robotics & Automation Society, where I am a member of the Micromouse team.
I spend most of my free time creating art. My specialty is painting shoes, and I have an Etsy shop where I sell them to customers. I have recently begun making jewelry, as well, and selling it in the University Store on campus. I also love to take walks, go to the gym, and spend time with friends.
This summer, I am participating in the Plus3 Engineering program in Costa Rica. This is a two-week program where I will be learning about supply chains and sustainability. I am so excited to go to Costa Rica because I love traveling to new countries. This will be my first time outside of the United States without my family, and I can’t wait to experience a new place with other Pitt students. I am also really excited to meet my homestay family and learn more about their culture and lifestyle!
