The first time doing anything in life is always a valuable experience, but the first day in another country can be mind blowing. I had experienced so many new things that I would have never even seen without coming to Vietnam and seeing it first-hand. An example of that was touring Ho Chi Minh city at the top of that bus. There were so many new sights to see like the different types of buildings, statues, and all the shops that lined the streets. One thing that really stood out to me was the crazy amount of traffic that was in the streets. Every street was filled with motorbikes and navigating a street like that without causing an accident seems genuinely impossible for me. Another thing that I noticed is that there were more and more foreign shops as we got closer to the middle of the city. When I asked my Vietnamese partner about it, he said that the foreigners and rich people tend to like more expensive foreign shops like that, so more and more shops from other countries have been popping up in the center of Ho Chi Minh city. I also asked about the different kites that were flying in the sky, and he told me that young children really enjoying going to that park and flying kites once their school day is over. As the tour of the city continued, I started to be more and more amazed with the culture and the overall look of the city, and as more time passes while we are here, I hope to soak in as much of that culture as I can.
