This morning we were heading back to Larnaca where we flew in to visit a couple of places and experience the beach. After a brief breakfast we headed off. I was a bit tired so I slept on the bus ride and got a little more sleep.
Our first stop was Hala Sultan Tekke, a mosque near Larnaca. This was the first mosque I’ve ever been in before and was definitely a unique place to visit. We got to see a tomb and a gravestone of relevant people like Muhammad’s Aunt after we took our shoes off to visit inside the mosque.

After the mosque we drove into Larnaca and visited Saint Lazarus’ church. This was again, the first Orthodox Church I had ever been in. It was also probably the most beautiful church I’ve been in as-well. I was raised Catholic and was familiar with much of the stuff present in church but other places like the basement crypt we went in that were totally unique and were things I had never seen before.

Finally we went to the beach. This was definitely one of my most anticipated things to do in Cyprus. We immediately rushed into the water and got to see the clear water which is something I don’t often experience being a frequent Jersey shore goer. I took small naps, swam, and stayed out in the sun for the whole time we had free time. We ate lunch before finally wrapping up with a quick run to the gift shop where I bought a bracelet which is one of the things I wanted in Cyprus.
Today was a very educational and fun day in the mosque, church and of course the beach. I’m looking forward to all that tomorrow holds.
