Day 2 in Ho Chi Minh City was very insightful and I feel like I learned a lot about what factories really entail. TTT Corporation was established in 1992 and it focuses on construction, architectural, and interior design. The TTT Corporation was extremely generous for explaining what their company is and their goal for the company as well.
The factory tour showed first hand the conditions the workers were working in and also what they were doing. I was very hot just standing and walking around the factory with a mask on, but the workers were working in that condition all day. This shows all the hard work that is being put into creating the furniture they are building.
Sustainability is definitely one of TTT’s biggest goals for their company which they expressed in the information session before the tour and also during the tour. The guys expressed that when making the parts for the furniture, they don’t use big massive trees to create the furniture. Instead, they utilize smaller pieces of wood and mash them together to cause less harm to the environment.
I think TTT Cooperation’s approach to sustainability is a way forward for green development. In this generation, I believe implementing sustainability through social media and companies is extremely popular and beneficial for the environment and global warming. TTT is just one company that is playing a part in increased sustainability. Managing a company is something I personally would someday like to accomplish and I think TTT Corporation’s approach to sustainability is definitely one I can keep in the back of my mind for when this goal becomes a reality.
Today was an extremely fun and exciting day and I am very excited to see what is to come in the next site visits!
