Today was a long, but exciting day in Germany. We left this morning around 7:30 am and got back around 7:20 pm. We had our first company visit at Hoerbiger today. I thought that the company was super interesting. Hoerbiger creates a multitude of different items but what we specifically learned today about their regulators and gears.
I thought that Hoerbiger’s regulators that they created were super interesting. The regulators that they have are used for things like helping sick babies in the hospital and for laser cutting in industries. These regulators are very precise and do not exert much energy around them, making them a very attractive product. When asked about their competitors in the market with these regulators they believed that they were really the only ones, because they feel that they can offer not only the product but the whole experience.

We finished our company visit around 2 in the afternoon and headed over to go see the Alps. Well, I guess kind of to see the Alps. We traveled roughly 30 minutes to see the Alps where we took a gondola to the very top of the mountain. This trip up the mountain took around 10 minutes to get to the peak.
Once we arrived at the top, we were unable to see anything below due to all of the fog in the air. Not only was it foggy, but it was super rainy and cold. We stayed at the top of the mountain for a few moments, before taking a group picture and leaving.
I really enjoyed the gondola trip. I thought it was so neat being in the sky and seeing some of the terrain that we could see through the fog.
After getting down the mountain we went into the local town. We walked around the town for about 40 minutes in the pouring rain. The town was really cool and was surrounded by the mountains. Robby, Jake, and I joined some of the Germany students at a local restaurant where we all had a treat.

It was a long but certainly a great day, with lots of learning and fond memories!
