This is a dual-day blog post. On Tuesday we visited the Humphries Military Camp occupied by the US army. Today, Wednesday, we took a bus to Eaton for a company visit. Both days were very educational and interesting. The military base was about as American as it gets. Countless vehicles, planes and artillery. The camp had its own golf course, high school, sports fields and four gyms. Major Katrina Johns was very helpful on the tour and she was very knowledgeable about all of the military equipment. Furthermore, I was able to get into a tank that was used in the Vietnam war and learned about boats that were deployed in water than turn into for a bridge for equipment to drive over. Later that night my friends and I took a cable car up to the N Seoul Tower which beheld a beautiful view of the city.
After a quick sleep, we were up at 6am today to head to Eaton. Then men and women who showed us around the plant were very friendly to teach us about the machines that made the parts for the company. Additionally, we learned more about Eaton from the good questions that our class asked. One thing I thought was interesting was the fact that most of their car parts don’t need changed from year to year. Instead parts are built to be compatible with 5 years of car models. After Eaton, we were treated to lunch. We had Korean Ssam. Ssam means wrapped. We took pieces of greenery and wrapped them around meat, rice and other fillings. It was a different kind of flavor but it was very yummy. As of night now we are taking the bus to the baseball game. As an avid baseball fan, this is one of the destinations I look forward to the most.
