Today we had a similar agenda as yesterday where we listened to a lecture, learned some more Vietnamese, then went to a company and toured it. Today’s company was PECC2, and their main objective is to increase the amount of sustainable energy that can be harvested in Vietnam. During the tour, we saw many different rooms like a control room for a lot of the solar and wind farms in Vietnam and a room where there was a virtual reality headset and rig for someone to be able to see a 3D model of whatever power plant that is being built and be able to actually walk inside of it and see the inside. This technology helps because it will be able to show companies exactly what the exterior and the interior will look like. PECC2 has helped Vietnam become more sustainable because all of PECC2’s projects have been things like solar panel farms, windmills, and hydroelectric builds. These rely on nature, so it is possible for the energy to be used over and over again thus making it renewable energy. With PECC2’s many sustainable energy plants all over Vietnam, Vietnam is taking very big steps towards being a fully sustainable country.
