Hope you are all doing well! We had a great day exploring the ranch Don Silvano. Our trip was about 1.5 hours northwest of Buenos Aires and it was very interesting to get out of the city and see the difference in geography. It was a little bit flatter where we were and we learned that the horses here are not as strong as the horses in the mountains since the ones in the mountains have to climb a lot more. We started out by exploring the ranch a little bit. There were about 3 ponds and a ton of animals. Some animals that were there were chickens, horses, cows, pigs, and more. I got to walk around the fields and see both sheep and llamas, it was my first time seeing a llama! There were so many mosquitoes are because of extra flooding in Brazil. This was a bit uncomfortable but definitely didn’t ruin the experience. After this we had a nice snack of empanadas and drinks and got to explore more. I went and saw a peacock as well as the ranch cat (she was so sweet!). I then did a high ropes course with my friends with a zip line ya the end. It was quite the adventure! We went back inside the main farmhouse and got to learn about some history of the property as well as the history of the Gaucho’s. The Gaucho were similar to America’s cowboys. We then went to eat lunch and I had some of the best meat I’ve ever had. The best part was definitely the steak, it was so juicy and tender. We also got lunch with a show though! There were people singing Argentinian songs and dancing classic Gaucho style. The were amazing, and everything moved into tango class as well. We learned a few basic steps and got to dance tango with everyone else. After lots of dancing and smiles we went back outside to almost a horse racing strip. There were 4 Gauchos that raced and played a classic Gaucho games, where there was a ring hanging down from an overhead par that they had to try to spear while riding underneath on their horse. This was super fun and impressive to watch.

As we move towards tomorrow and mother’s day I would love to set some of my blog apart to thank her for everything. I will definitely miss her and miss mother’s day with her. My mom has pushed me so much in the past when I felt like I didn’t have anymore and she has allowed for me to realize how much more my potential is. She is always so caring for me and interested in what I’m doing. I always remember that we would ride horses together for mother’s day, so it was really nice to see horses today even if I didn’t get to ride them with her because it allowed me to think of all the great memories together and how much she has helped me grow up.
