Fairy-tale Moment (Day 5)

Hallo!

Welcome to Day 5 of the trip to Germany, today was a fun one!

This morning we departed to the beautiful Neuschwanstein Castle. It is a gorgeous site, built high up on the side of the mountains… which we had to hike up. The hike was a killer after all the walking we have been doing, and I definitley got my steps in for the day. However, the view from above was all worth it. Once up, we did a castle tour where we saw the prince’s quarters and his private ballroom. We learned that even though so much work was put into the ballroom, nothing was ever held there, as the prince did not want strangers in his estate. Thanks to the tour guides for letting us in though, because the fairytale ballroom was a sight to see!

After the tour, we headed back down the mountain (it was much easier this time) and got on the bus to Fuessen. It was such a cute small town and we grabbed some food and walked around for a bit.

We then headed to Wieskirche to see this gorgeous church in the middle of the country-side. It was surrounded by wide open fields and the view of the mountains, but the inside was just as impressive. We got there just in time for the end of a ceremony and then were able to walk around for a few minutes before leaving. The ceiling was beautifully painted with detailed figures and there was gold embossed paintings and fixtures everywhere. It was truly a work of art.

In this post, I am showing the pictures of the Neuschwanstein Castle and the Wieskirche church!
