Today was another packed day for the group. We left the hotel at 8:30 to head to our first visit, HY. HY is a probiotic company that mainly produces Yakult-type beverages. Yakult is a sweetened probiotic milk that has origins in Japan. The tour itself was the most interactive so far. They showed us videos explaining how the production process works and let us touch the material that makes the bottle. We were also allowed to look at the factory where the drinks are produced. However, no products were in production due to a holiday. After the tour ended, they gave us some of their products. The only time I have drank Yakult is during breakfast at the hotel. I thought those were decent, but the apple probiotic drink I tried was pretty good.

After this visit, we went to the next company, Samsung Innovation Museum. The innovation tour began with a quick overview of the discovery of static electricity and how it is important to the electronics we have today. Then, the tour showed us how technology improved over time. One example of this was the TV. What once started as a very bulky TV set with a fuzzy and small picture is now slimmer and has sharp and crisp picture quality. The tour ended with them showing us Samsung’s newest Technologies, such as the Galaxy S24 and a combined washer and dryer.

After the company visits, we went on a scavenger hunt. We got four pictures to find around Lotte Tower. Three places were easy to find, but the fourth took 2 hours. Once done with the hunt, we decided to stick around and see the view from the tower. Lotte Tower is the largest building in Korea and the sixth largest in the world. The view is incredible. You could almost see the entire city from up there. We stayed looking at the view for about an hour before heading back to the hotel.
