Today was honestly one of my favorite days and I learned that I love London so so much ! First we started off the day at the inclusive breakfast down stairs which was amazing. I had scrambled eggs with toast, tomatoes, spinach, beans, mushrooms, and overnight oats with tea to drink. My friends and I had a really nice start to the morning which made for an even better day. We ended up taking the tube from Paddington Station all the way to Big Ben ! I did not think that I would be that amazed at a clock but it was beautiful. The attention to detail and gold lining was perfect. It started to rain on us slightly so I had to keep an umbrella handy all day. We walked around Big Ben for a little and then made our way over the Westminster Bridge which I thought for awhile was the London Bridge. I guess not every bridge in London is considered the London Bridge. Also on our walk over the bridge we saw the London Eye, which should not be called a ferris wheel I learned because some people get offended. We made our way over to the Florence Nightingale Museum, where my fellow nursing students and I walked around for about an hour. I learned that Florence had a lot of men lined up for her ready to propose but she needed up saying no. I have heard about Florence before because she is basically the mother of nursing and evidence based practice which I have learned about before.
After touring the museum we ended up splitting from our professors and having a lot of the day to ourselves. We walked around the same bridge again and took some cute tourist pictures along the way. We then had to meet in a group and decide what we wanted to do for the rest of the day. We ended up taking the tube again to a place called Soho. We heard recommendations the day before that it was a cute place to shop. We had to have Emily and Angela guide us around the station because learning how to navigate a new city is hard. We ended up making it to Soho where we walked around for a little and ended up finding a cute shop that sold chocolate strawberries in a cup and coffee. A group of us sat in the store for awhile and enjoyed our delicious snack. We then made our way around the streets while it was drizzling to do some well deserved shopping. We walked around for awhile and a lot of the time split into smaller groups because it was easier that way. I didn’t end up buying much but I enjoyed walking around and exploring. Towards the end of our time in this part of London I had gotten the lead of directions, which was not a very good idea. I normally can’t direct anyone anywhere, but this time for some reason I figured it all out. I guided us around the streets while still drizzling, ughhh, and we somehow made our way back to the tube station. We rode around for a little while and eventually made it to London Bridge. I thought that the bridge would be more exciting or have more objects on it so I was confused when we arrived. We ended up taking some pictures and videos and then made our way to dinner, which was a pizza place across from the theater. We had group dinner and then walked over to theater where we would be seeing Mamma Mia. I really enjoyed the play and thought the actors did an amazing job. After the play we took the tube back to Paddington Station and I made my way in for the night ! Tomorrow I will be leaving the UK and I can’t believe this 2 week journey is already over. I’m so grateful for this experience and appreciate everything that I was able to learn !
