Today we had a late start and I started off with going to lunch at Mr. Ho. I love Korean food and believe this was one of the best I ever had. Of course, I had to go to Cafe Mago for my daily coffee. The late start was a huge refresher and I had the opportunity to buy more souvenirs for my family and friends which I am excited to give to them. This was our last full day in Argentina and it went by incredibly fast. I had such a great time and learned so much and had a great time with great people!
The first museum we visited today was Museo de Los Imigrantes! In this Museum we learned about the immigration in Argentina. Many Italians and Spaniards came to Argentina for better economic and life opportunities which is very similar to the U.S. Many African, Asian, Caribbean, Italian Immigrants migrated from their country to America for better work, economic opportunities and the ‘American dream’. There are more nationalities coming to the U.S. in comparison to Argentina. Both countries attracted many immigrants and still have and more influx-in g the country today. The second museum we visited was Museo de Etnographico. This one, I did not enjoy as much but it was cool to see all the clothing and artifacts. There was one room dedicated to llamas which I found very funny but it was cool learning the history about it.
After the museums, we had an alumni dinner with Pitt Alumni at this nice Italian restaurant. The food was amazing and we had the opportunity to talk to this brilliant man. One of the man owned owned an a billion dollar company. I got one of the man Instagram, and he was discussing how he might come back to Pittsburgh to visit us which I am excited about if he does!
