We spent our last day in Austria!!! We went to Salzburg, which is where The Sound of Music was filmed. We stopped at this German restaurant for a quick bite before we took the incline to the top of the castle which overlooked the city. It was absolutely stunning. We took our photos and walked around a little bit. When we were exploring we made our way over to the other side of the castle, where we FINALLY got to see the Alps on a clear day. The weather was a little bit rainy all day, but in this moment, it cleared up. We took tons of photos and did a little bit of final shopping. We stopped at a pop up for a giant pretzel. I was a little bit disappointed because the pretzel was actually a sugar donut, but it was good nonetheless. I spent the whole week searching for a very specific souvenir which I found, thank goodness. We explored the shops and did a bit more sightseeing before we finished our Salzburg trip at a fancy drink place, where we got some coffee. We took the three hour train ride back which was eventful, to say the least. There were lots of laughs and I think we were all so tired we were a little bit delusional. The trip was a perfect way to end off our trip. I cannot be more grateful for the trip itself, the Pitt and German students I met, the directors of the trip and the companies who worked with us. It was so immersive, I learned so much, and this trip has truly changed my perspective on things. This will definitely be a trip I will remember!!
