See Ya Seoul! (Day 12)

Today is departure day. I am so sad yet so fulfilled from this trip. 14 days was the sweet spot to be in South Korea. We had to be in the lobby at 11:45am with all our luggage. I woke up at around 8:30-9:00am to get breakfast with others before we headed to the airport. I thought packing was going to be much more difficult than it was. My checked bag was only about 7 pounds heavier than how it was packed to travel to Korea. It was 23 pounds on the way over and was heading back to the States weighing 29lb. This was a relief because we had a limit of 50lb. I am now writing this currently as I am on the flight to Georgia. My internal clock is 7:59pm and it feels that way. I am not tired yet and I have yet to sleep on the plane. I bought the Wi-Fi (I KNOW), but I wanted to get work done on the flight.

My internal clock is now at 3:49am (Seoul time), however we have two more hours until we land in Georgia. We will be landing at 4:48pm EST time. Our Plus3 group will be splitting up in Georgia. Half of us are flying back to Philadelphia while the other half are flying back to Pittsburgh. I am among the Philadelphia travelers. We are expected to arrive in Philly at 9:48pm. I plan to not sleep for the ATL->PHL either because I want to fall asleep right when I get home.

Traveling to South Korea while representing the University of Pittsburgh and the School of Business was an experience I’ll never forget. To have the ability to go on a trip like this and visit global renown companies such as Samsung and Hyundai were amazing. Speaking with their employers and gaining insight at the production facilities broadened my understanding of key business concepts I have been learning about at PITT. I want to thank the University of Pittsburgh, The Global Experiences Office, Dr. Yun, Chris, Kay, and Brad for the amazing opportunity and privilege I was given to go on such a remarkable trip.
