Germany Day 11 – Presentations & Farewell Dinner

My 11th day in Germany was the day our group was finally going to present. In a way, this was a culmination of the whole trip, from our trip to Forvia, our trips to the other companies, and forming relationships with the University of Augsburg students. I was just a bit nervous to present in front of everybody, but I knew we would do great (and we did)! My group was the last to go, as of course you save the best for last.

After our presentation, we had some free time before dinner at Ratskeller with the Augsburg students. One of my friends and I decided to grab some lunch and coffee and sit outside for a bit. It was a very warm day in Augsburg, and it seemed like everybody was outside. The only thing I would say I’m not a fan of is that smoking in public is a much bigger thing in Europe because I don’t like the smell of cigarette smoke. They even have ash trays at most outdoor tables, which is not a thing in the US in my experience.

After the cafe and before dinner, a group of us students (both Pittsburgh & Augsburg) went bowling at a local bowling alley. It was a really fun time, and I loved getting to hang out with the Augsburg students more! I came in dead last for bowling, but that was no surprise to me. After bowling, we all headed to Ratskeller for dinner, which has a cool basement entrance. That entrance is doubly cool because Ratskeller in English translates to “basement tavern”. This dinner ended our required hangouts with the Augsburg students, but I had no doubt we would see them a lot more before the trip ended!
