Germany Day 10 – Powerpoint, powerpoint, powerpoint!

Hallo! My 10th day in Germany was a day dedicated to working on our powerpoint for the next day’s presentation. The Pittsburgh and Augsburg students in my group agreed to meet up at the University of Augsburg to work on the presentation together, so that meant taking the tram to the school. I got to sleep in a little later than I had the past few days, which was nice considering how busy we had been. Unfortunately, I slept in a little too much and had to catch up with my group in a scramble! However, this gave me the opportunity to take the tram by myself. It showed me how I could navigate it by myself, which made me very proud.

At the University of Augsburg, we went back to the building we had met in multiple times before. It was interesting to see the university during this time of the day, as it was way busier than when we had gone earlier in days prior. It reminded me a lot of American universities with how crowded it was.

After we finished up our presentation, we then went to the dining hall for lunch. It was then that I found out that their cafeteria was only open until 1:30 in the afternoon, which is a far cry from the Eatery which closes at midnight. My reasoning behind that is because people don’t live in on-campus dormitories like they do at Pitt (or at other US colleges), and so they have kitchens to cook in at home.

After lunch, one of my teammates and I went to Starbucks for coffee and to practice our parts of the presentation. I know Starbucks has the stereotype of being expensive in the US, but it was even more expensive in Germany! It hurt my soul a bit to pay €7.40 (equivalent to $8) for a Frappucino. My teammate and I worked on our parts for a few hours before heading back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

This day was more low-key than a lot of the days prior, but it gave me the opportunity to see Augsburg and the University of Augsburg in their natural settings.
