Today was an exciting but (eventually) sad day. We started off bright and early at the University of Augsburg for our presentations. My group went 3rd, and felt very prepared and excited to share our knowledge and findings in our studies on our company (Hoerbiger). My part was focusing on the CASE (connectedness, autonomous, shared, electric) section and part of the Adaptation of the Business Functions (marketing and operations sections). An interesting fact from my part was that Hoerbiger uses customer collaboration to gain better insight on what customers prefer and how to make their products better by, you guessed it, asking customers!
I also greatly enjoyed hearing the other company’s presentations, as they put a lot of the topics we discussed on our site visits into more of our class’ applications. One thing I enjoyed learning about from, specifically, the Audi presentation was actually something that Audi made a mistake on. They admit that they were late to the EV trend, and it was interesting to learn some advancements they are making to compensate for this.
After our presentations, we had some more free time, which I spent exploring the city some more and doing some shopping. Eventually, it was time for the farewell dinner. I had what’s commonly referred to as German mac and cheese, which is a cheesy pasta sort of dish topped with crispy onions. It was delicious, but it was very filling. I got sad towards the end, as it really hit me that it was time to say goodbye to the students we had worked alongside and bonded with over the past week. It was great to reminisce and hang out with them once more, though. To cheer ourselves up, me and a friend got gelato after, a treat we frequently had on this trip.
