Today is the big day… final presentations!
The start was rough. I missed the early train that everyone else took, and had planned to be on time with the train that followed it. I was at the station on time, however the train was not. It ended up being about 12 minutes off schedule, and a German woman that sat next to me waiting at the station even complained to me about it. This was my first experience with the German transport being off schedule, however it is still so much more advanced and efficient than in America.
I finally got on the train and arrived at the University, hustling to the building for our presentations. I arrived, and fortunately my team was going third. Once it was our turn, we presented our information on the Hoerbiger company, which I feel went pretty well.
After we were done, we were given the okay to go. Me and Delaney headed back to the city. We changed out of our business casual clothes, and went to grab some lunch and do some work. We grabbed sandwiches and then coffee from Starbucks. The Starbucks was so different from those in America. First, the sizing is way smaller, the venti in Germany is a grande in America. They also offer in-person dining, where you can get your drink served in a glass. I think that is a great idea, and that it would be awesome to implement that in the US to help save plastic usage and reduce waste. We sat on the outside porch for a bit, where we did some people watching while we worked. After we got hot, we moved inside for a bit, before heading back to the hotel.
Delaney, Hannah, and I made plans with some German students we befriended (Giulia, Sven, and Tim), and went bowling. We had so much fun, and then headed to the Ratskeller for the goodbye dinner. The goodbye dinner was such a bittersweet experience. I had really gotten close with some of the German students, so it was sad to give hugs and say our goodbyes. However, we all added each other on different platforms, and still keep in touch!
