Travel days… the worst. Traveling to the destination is always fun and exciting but going home is neither of those. Honestly, I was not ready to go back and wish I could’ve stayed longer in Germany. Our day started with breakfast as usual then off to the bus. We drove to the Munich airport to begin the process of going home. Honestly this airport was very bad and the security was crazy! But, we eventually made it to our gate in time to board our flight. Our first flight was to Chicago and then to Pittsburgh.
Today was a very sad day, we had to say goodbye to Germany. I loved this trip more than I thought was even possible, so leaving somewhere that hold all of my favorite memories was really tough. Going into this trip, I only knew one person, and we weren’t close, we just met a few weeks before the class began. But now I am leaving this trip with 15 new friends across all majors and ages but we all have one thing in common, and it is the time we shared in Germany. Never did I think I would actually be able to travel overseas, but it was always a dream of mine. Now that I have this amazing trip under my belt, I cannot wait until the next one (which my Plus3 roommate, Julie and I plan on going together). The bonds I made on this trip were not two week friendships, these are people that I will hold close to my heart for the rest of my life. This was an amazing group of people and the trip would not have been what it was without them.
