Augsburg Day 5 –  Beautiful Sights

Today was beautifully scenic and very soul filling for me. We got on the bus and headed to Neuschwanstein. The route was very scenic and I had an amazing time viewing all of the properties leading up to our destination. The town was very lovely and we stopped in a few shops and bought souvenirs before heading up the hill to view the castle. The hike was my favorite part of the day and a very grounding experience.

We toured the castle and got an inside look of Ludwig II’s life. It’s interesting to imagine one who seemingly had everything on the outside but spent most of his time fantasizing a life that was not his. The psychology behind such a thing interests me a lot. The interior was beautifully designed and gave me inspiration for my own space back home in Pittsburgh.

We then drove over to Fussen and walked around and grabbed a bite to eat. The towns are so relaxing and really allow me to experience European culture and lifestyle. Very simple. Lastly we headed to Wieskirche to see the absolutely gorgeous church in the middle of the country-side. The exterior was impressive but the art on the inside was extraordinary. Art is very appreciated in Germany which I absolutely love.

Today was by far my favorite day yet. We saw so many different landmarks and core aspects of Germany’s culture that I will never forget! I am happy to have shared such memorable moments with my classmates and the staff on our trip.
