Intro to Plus3 Vietnam: Chloe Acuna

Hello everyone! My name is Chloe Acuna. I am a current first-year student at the Swanson School of Engineering majoring in Electrical Engineering and seeking a concentration in Software and Nuclear Engineering. I am from Blue Bell, Pennsylvania (about an hour outside of Philly) where I played on my high school’s lacrosse, basketball, soccer, and ultimate frisbee teams. At Pitt, I am part of the Pitt Ultimate Club team and look forward to immersing myself in other engineering focused clubs next semester. I am thrilled and excited to be a part of Pitt’s Plus3 Vietnam summer program. I look forward to growing my knowledge on the business side of engineering while also enjoying the experience of being in a foreign country with new people.

I am incredibly grateful to have this opportunity to travel abroad and get first-hand experiences to major business corporations and companies based in Vietnam. More specifically, I am ecstatic to immerse myself into the culture of Vietnam. During our stay in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, I hope to learn more about the country’s fascinating history and culture. As a granddaughter of first-generation immigrants from Vietnam, I hope to gain a greater appreciation for the country that my grandparent’s hailed from. From this trip to Vietnam, I will be able to apply the lessons and knowledge I gain inside the classroom to my future and professional career.
