Hello! My name is Amanda Booth, and I am from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. I am currently a student at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and a secondary education major with an English writing concentrate. In my free time, I go on walks, binge-watch shows, and hang out with friends. I am excited to embark on a new journey this summer by getting to do the Plus3 United Kingdom program. I have never traveled out of the country before so when I saw this opportunity I thought that it would be a great first experience since it is a group trip. I have always wanted to travel abroad, and this trip will be the first of many studying abroad experiences I hope to have. 

I hope that from this experience I gain a better understanding of what healthcare and education are like in the UK. I am also curious to see how their healthcare and education differ from the U.S. As an education major, I am looking forward to learning how their education system is set up along with their curriculum. I also hope to learn more about the different cultures that reside in Birmingham England and have the opportunity to try the various ethnic food options. I am so excited about this opportunity, and I am eager to make life-long memories on this trip!
