Preparing for Korea: About Me

Hello! My name is Anna Farmer and I am going on the Plus3 trip to South Korea! Currently, I am a freshman in the Swanson School of Engineering with an intended major of Chemical Engineering. I am from Hanover, Pennsylvania which is just outside of Gettysburg. At Pitt, I have found many fun activities and clubs for my spare time including joining the Handbell Ensemble. In my free time I enjoy reading, swimming, playing the piano, and watching movies. I also love to travel and have had the opportunity to go to Paris, France and Rota, Spain in the past few years.

I am very excited to be going on the Plus 3 trip to Korea this summer! I chose to go to Korea because I am very interested in learning about other cultures and the technology that is implemented in everyday life in the smart cities within Korea. I am eager to explore Korea and try a lot of Korean food! Going on this trip also provides an opportunity for me to see advancements in engineering in another country. I am excited to see the use of all of the different fields of engineering, including chemical engineering, in Korean life. I hope to use everything I learn in Korea in my next 3 years in Swanson and in my future career.
