My name is Aidan Quinn, I am a first-year engineering student planning to major in Bioengineering and minor in Chemistry. I am from West Chester, PA and am involved in the University of Pittsburgh Varsity Marching Band where I play the saxophone. I am not quite sure what my professional plans are quite yet, but I have an interest in prosthetics, medicine, and genetic treatments.
I am participating in the Vietnam Plus3 this summer. This program is focused on exploring the globalization in Vietnam, this essentially is how the nation is growing and becoming more interconnected with the world as a whole. I found Vietnam to be an extremely interesting location because it is so far from my home in Pennsylvania. I have only ever travelled in the Americas, so I found the opportunity to travel to Asia to be enticing. I am hoping to gain a new understanding and worldview by experiencing a different culture from my own and learning about it. I am also very excited to embrace new foods that may be foreign to me. From a professional standpoint I am very interested in learning about the companies we will be visiting. I want to use this trip as an opportunity to really get a look at how different companies operate and how things may differ in Vietnam compared to businesses in the United States. I am very excited to see what other opportunities Plus3 Vietnam has to offer me throughout my journey.
