Off to Ecuador!

Hi! My name is Lama, a Finance major at Pitt. Originally from Oman, I bring a unique international perspective and a passion for learning how economic and environmental systems intersect. Personally, I would describe myself as curious, adaptable, and deeply interested in how global systems—whether financial, political, or environmental—interact and evolve. Having grown up in Oman and now studying in the United States, I’ve developed a strong appreciation for multicultural perspectives and the importance of cross-border collaboration. I enjoy exploring new environments, whether through travel, academic research, or meaningful conversations with people from different walks of life.

I chose Plus3 Ecuador because it offers the perfect mix of cultural immersion, environmental learning, and global business exposure. Ecuador’s rich biodiversity and indigenous heritage make it a unique setting to explore sustainability and innovation beyond the classroom. I’m especially excited to see how local communities and companies navigate global challenges on a regional scale — from ethical production to ecotourism. It’s a chance to step out of my comfort zone, practice cross-cultural collaboration, and gain a deeper understanding of how interconnected our world really is.
