Hello! My name is Caden Boring, and I am a Pittsburgh native studying computer engineering at the Swanson School of Engineering. My primary interests are robotics, machine learning, computer vision, and entrepreneurship. This summer, I will be working on projects with close friends and attempting to market solutions to clientele. Next semester at Pitt, I will get more involved in the Panther Racing team and robotics research in a lab. My eventual goal is to found a start-up in the tech space and substantially impact the world in the form of automation.
I spend a lot of time outdoors when I’m not working on my projects. I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and exploring new places. On the more adventurous and thrilling side, I love skydiving, whitewater rafting, and horseback riding. With friends, I tend to do more sports, like soccer and tennis, or tabletop games (poker, chess, board games, etc.) I listen to all genres of music, but my favorites are electronic and jazz. For movies and media, I’m a big fan of the horror genre. Generally speaking, my interests are somewhat all over the place because I’m very quick to get interested in something new, which I hope will serve me well in Vietnam!
Speaking of Vietnam, I chose this Plus3 program because of Vietnam’s fascinating historical background, combined with its unique potential to experience a massive economic surge in the coming years. International cooperation greatly contributes to the success of many of the world’s most well-performing global companies. I hope that by exposing myself to some of Vietnam’s potential and meeting with prominent industry leaders, I can utilize that knowledge to assist in my own entrepreneurial endeavors. Personally, I adore change and new experiences, so I wanted to go somewhere very different from home as my first true international experience. I’m excited to explore Vietnam, get to know people there, and experience their culture!
