Hi! My name is Bryce Sweeney, and I am from Springfield, PA (30 minutes outside of Philly). I’m a first-year bioengineering student in the Swanson School of Engineering and am traveling to the Netherlands through Plus3! I’m also in the Frederick Honors College. On campus, I am involved in many activities, but my primary activity is being an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Kozai’s lab. I am actually spending the summer working in this lab full time! Next semester, I am starting as a volunteer at UPMC. Professionally, I intend to pursue further education and conduct research.

Outside of academics, I have many interests. I enjoy running and being in nature. Additionally, I enjoy biking and bike to work every morning.

I am extremely excited to partake in Plus3 for many reasons. Personally, I have never gone abroad, so I am excited to travel and explore a new country! Moreover, I am extremely interested in sustainability as I believe it it vital to protect our world. On an academic and professional level, I hope to gain knowledge regarding sustainable practices that could potentially be used within my future career. I also hope to make new connections through this program. In summary, I chose Plus3 to expand my personal cultural understanding and further develop my academic and professional goals.
