Day One Of Big Baller Blogs

After a long journey, we finally arrived in Ho Chi Minh City. What stood out to me culturally was how open and welcoming everyone was to us. Many of the students we met were incredibly excited to show us around, and their enthusiasm made us feel instantly at home. There were many signals that development was apparent throughout the city. The streets were well lit, the buildings were modern and well put together, and the overall atmosphere reflected a vibrant, growing urban area.

Lunch was great today, and one of the standout dishes was a type of sticky rice that was sweet and delicious. It had a unique flavor and texture that I really enjoyed. Dinner later in the evening was even better. The highlight of the meal was definitely the fried shrimp rolls—they were the best part of dinner. What made them even more special was that they completely surprised me, as it was something I had never tried before.

Nothing really differed from what I had read in the books or heard about beforehand. Everything I had expected was confirmed by my experiences here. Everyone has been truly welcoming and kind, which has made the transition into this new environment smooth and enjoyable.
