What an exciting day we had today. I learned more about yogurt and elevators than I ever thought I’d know. Our day started around 8:30am when we met our tour guide Jinny in the lobby and got on the bus. We took a bus ride to Fredit which would be our first company tour of the day. Fredit is a company that produces yogurt drinks with probiotics. We learned everything from the history of the company, to the production of the products, to the logistics behind the company’s supply chain. When we first arrived to Fredit, the cleanliness safety measures started. We had to change out of our shoes and put on sandals (they were one size fits all, aka way too small for my feet). We then walked through their multi-step cleaning procedure. They first used a suction vacuum to remove dust from their clothes, then they washed, dried, and sanitized their hands, and finally they step on a floor pad that removes the dust from shoes. You then walk through a room with staggered metal bars and air blowing at you from all directions. This is the last step on cleanliness so that all the excess dust can be removed- and the metal bars are there to slow down people from proceeding to quickly through the room. After the cleanliness procedure, we were led through the facility by a worker, and she told us all about Fredit. We saw how the yogurt drinks were produces, how the plastic bottles were made, how the yogurt drinks and delivered, and more. This was a very interesting site visit and I learned a lot! We then drove to a traditional restaurant for lunch which was pork and seafood tofu soup- it was pretty good. Then we took another bus ride to TK Elevators which was our second site visit for the day. We learned all about their elevators and how they produce them. We had the chance to do a few interactive experiences, as well (like in the picture). TK Elevators was also a very informative company visit! We then took a bus ride back to the hotel to end our planned activities for the day. What an exciting day!
