Today was the earliest start yet with the departure time being 6:50. We had sandwiches and fruit for breakfast on the bus ride over to Hyundai. Our tour of Hyundai began by observing how the metal frame of the car was pressed into the correct shape depending on the model of the car. The metal frame then got welded together with the other parts of the car. The frame was then painted, which I learned was the longest part of the car making process taking around 10-11 hours. The interior components and engine were then put into the car and the doors were reattached. Finally the car was taken for a test drive to make sure it drove correctly and there was no water leakage. This whole process was mostly automated and a car was produced every 53 seconds. I was very interested to see this process and all the machines involved, most of them running on their own.

Our next destination was the Han river cruise. We first made a stop at a Korean rest stop filled with mini street food stands where I got to try mini churros. When we arrived at the river we had boxed lunches with chicken, rice and soup. After our lunch we boarded the cruise ship and set sail for the Han river. While on the cruise I got to try feeding seagulls fish and they ate it straight out of my hand. Eventually the seagulls were full so I decided to enjoy the view from the ship which was one I had not yet experienced but I was grateful that I got the chance to.

Today was a long but interesting day where I learned a lot about the manufacturing process for cars at Hyundai and had the opportunity to experience South Korea aboard a ship.
