Day 3: Hearts & Puppies

Today, we started at the Bilbao School of Engineering at 10 am. We listened to a presentation about OREKA- balance project. This is a project that the school has been working on for the past 7 years. They have build a machine that helps to measure stroke patients balance so that they will have a way to show progression in their patients. Then Dr. Borovetz spoke about his time working on heart transplants and machines that can help to circulate blood in through the heart. It was very interesting to learn about and just how much these devices can prolong one’s life.

For the rest of the day, we spent it at the Guggenheim Museum. It is a very interesting design on the inside and the outside. We got to see The Puppy statue and take pictures with it which I was very happy about because I was look forward to see this particular piece. We then spent about 2 hours exploring the museum and seeing all that it had to offer. Once we were done at the museum, we walked home getting the chance to see all the different buildings in Bilbao and appreciate the Spanish architecture.
