At our Wargaming visit I learned that the free to play model of video game can allow for easy accessibility to reach a wide range of people so they have to strongly focus on retention rate of players. I also learned that differences between the versions of the game between consoles, pc, and mobile, is quite severe, as well as region specific differences, especially regarding the Chinese market that utilizes Chinese publishers to produce the specific version of the game for their market. Because their games are mainly downloaded digitally, there is not a traditional supply chain model. However, there is a connection between the way that they have to continually update the game to retain experienced players so that there is something new for them and companies with physical products having to continuously ship products to retailers in order for repeat customers to purchase them in stores.
At Kakopetria Village I learned about the flour mill house (and newly built surrounding hotel) and how other nearby villages would have to travel far to get the flour produced there since they did not have the ability to do so in their village. At St. Nicholas of the Roof Church I learned about some of the differences between interpretations of the bible between Greek Orthodox and Catholic faith, for example how in orthodox Mary is looking at Jesus with her hair covered at his crucifixion while she is fainting with her hair down in the Catholic interpretation. Additionally it was interesting to learn the story of the 40 martyrs that is dear to Cypriots where Roman soldiers that converted to Christianity were tortured in a cold bath and tempted with a hot one, where when one soldier succumbed to the hot bath he was replaced by another. Finally it was also interesting to note how the church was found in the 18th century by a Russian monk who wrote that at the time there were two impoverished monks left in the monastery, probably the last two, as this was shortly before the island was raided again.
