Wednesday May 14th, 2025 

Today we had an early start of meeting in the lobby at 6.50 am. Thankfully breakfast was provided which was really good. There was half a sandwich with egg, meat, and vegetable. There were also other sides which were good. The early start was due to the 1.75 hour drive to the Hyundai factory plant. Here we got a tour of the factory and how everything was made in house. I found this extremely interesting and thought it was like the TV show How It’s Made but in real life. The tour showed us everything from the raw material to the assembly line. Similar to the TK elevators there were display cars that I really enjoyed seeing and interacting with. The tour showed us a range of different ‘departments’ or sectors they have to create the car. From the shaping, to painting, to assembly etc., for the shaping of the steel 80% of the production was autonomous and we could see self driving forklifts (which used lasers to indicate where to go) and flatbed machines used to transport steel sheets (which used magnets in the ground to follow around the factory.

After the Hyundai tour on our way to the Hun river tour we stopped by a rest stop. This rest stop was really cool as it was lined with small food stalls and had a little store inside with snacks and cute tables with umbrellas. A few got Korean corn dogs and some got honey cakes and others got snack from the store.  Another hour drive after the rest stop we arrived at our meeting spot for the Han river tour. Our lunch was bento boxes which were delivered directly to our meeting spot. The river tour was 40 minutes and we got to enjoy the view and got to feed the seagulls with drives small fish. Feeding the fish was very fun as we held the small fish in our hand and they grabbed it directly out of our hands. There was also very nice piano and singing. 

Overall today was very interesting and thought provoking yet calm and tranquil due to the river cruise.
