Today was one of those days I know I’ll look back on and smile. We started off with a Taekwondo class, and it was such a fun and energizing way to kick things off—literally. None of us really knew what we were doing at first, but once we got into it, sparring with each other felt both hilarious and kind of epic. There’s something really cool about learning Taekwondo in Korea, where it all began. We were sweating, laughing, and trying to take it seriously, but mostly just enjoying the moment with each other.
Afterward, we were starving, so we headed to a Korean BBQ spot that’s famous for its pork belly—and wow, it did not disappoint. The meat was insanely good and wrapping it in lettuce with all the sides was my favorite part. From there, we visited City Hall, which was way cooler than I expected. The building is open to the public and designed to feel welcoming, and apparently, the mayor works right there with everyone else. Our tour guide was the sweetest.
Once the tour wrapped up, we hung out outside City Hall, just enjoying the weather and the energy of the city around us. Then we made our way to Myeongdong for some shopping—of course. I picked up a few things and then we all sat down for dinner: bulgogi and a bunch of delicious side dishes. It felt like the perfect ending to a packed day. Except it wasn’t quite over—we were so sore from all the walking that we treated ourselves to a massage. Best decision ever. I walked out feeling like a new person, already wishing we could do the whole day all over again.
