Day Four Drift: From City Streets to Sea Breezes

This morning, we got on the metro and then a bus to visit Hospital Gorliz on the coast. First we listened to a presentation about the hospital and then we split into groups to tour the hospital. We got to see the balance machine that we had learned about on Wednesday, and we also got to see the pediatric center, xray room, pharmacy, meeting rooms, and the exercise areas including the different technology. I thought it was cool to see the balance machine in real life as we had just learned about how it could help patients. I also enjoyed seeing the hospital and the similarities and differences to the hospitals in the United States. I think my favorite area was the physical therapy and occupational rooms as I got to see the different machines and tools that they use, and it was also interesting to compare these rooms to the different machines used in the pediatric wing. Specifically, in the pediatric wing, the nurse showed us a game that they have the patients play as one of the exercises, and I think this interactive idea is cool as it is effective, yet entertains the patient.

After we left the hospital, we got some free time to eat lunch up at the coast before heading back. Later tonight, we went to the theater where we got to see a concert, and we also got to see Saioa perform which was super cool to see someone that we knew performing in the concert.
