Argentina Day 7

We started our day off today by going to the IES office where we had a presentation from Dr. Gabriel Novick who is the head of Swiss Medical. He talked to us about the entire health care system, how each section is financed. We discussed the competition in each sector within prices and power and also discussed the flow of money within the sectors. Argentina’s healthcare system has a huge problem with denying people healthcare. This is great for the residents, but extremely hurtful to the economy. This conversation opened my eyes to understand the economics and finances side of Argentinas healthcare management system.

For our final activity for the day, we went to the Museo Evita. Before we toured the museum we had a delicious lunch right outside of the museum! The museum was centered around the life and story of Evita Perón, who was the first lady of Argentina– wedded to former president Juan Perón. Her role in society was fighting for women’s suffrage.
