Day 6 in Bilbao

Today we began the day with a guided tour of Bilbao’s opera house. Although we had already visited the space for a performance, today’s tour gave us a deeper look into its unique design and history. What I found interesting was that the main stage and auditorium are located on the second floor. This was an architectural decision made to prevent damage from flooding, because the nearby river has posed problems in the past. The beautiful classical design of the building made it stand out, and it felt like an important piece of the culture’s identity.

After the tour, we grabbed crepes and cappuccinos (which has become a favorite drink of mine here) at a nearby cafe. Later in the day during our free time, we took another trip up the incline to enjoy the views of the city during the evening. It was a great way to unwind after such a full week.
