Day 6 – Neuschwanstein and MAN Guest Speaker

Our earliest start by far. I woke up at 5am to get ready to be out of the door by 6:30am. A little over an hour drive and the landscape changed drastically. From flat farms, to hills and the Apls slowly coming into focuses from blurry backdrops before.

After a long wait admiring the view, we walked up the preset path towards the castle. As we learned later in the tour, the castle was opeaned for tourism shrly after the king who built it died. The castle tour was an important story on mental health and how littl was understood until recent years. The scenery surrounding the castle was breathtaking and gave it a very magical atmosphere to the snow-capped mountains, I couldn’t help but think during our quick lunch near the castle about how supplies get up to this fairly remote area. Cars are one things, but for delivery trucks I can’t fathom how they drive up the small roads.

Later in the afternoon, we had a guest talk from the manger of the MAN site we visited. I ahve to say while the presentation was great, explaining the challenged MAN has adapting to the new electric car requirements in the EU, I though the questions our group asked were both insightful and acutally helped add to the material and content of the presentation.
