I’ve never breathed cleaner air | Augsburg Day 6

We woke up an a very early time this morning, but it was all worth it the second we could see the Alps from the bus window. There were cows everywhere, and the Alpine architecture was beautiful. We saw a great deal of people hang-gliding, and I wished I could have joined them. Once we arrived, and I breathed the air, I could feel the purity of the air. Wandering near the lake, a couple of people tried to skip rocks and take pictures, until it was time to wander up to the castle itself. Instead of taking the hike, we convinced Professor Feick to take a horse-drawn carriage with us. It was an amazing time, and our driver was so sweet. He told us the names of the horses were Rosie and Josef, and they were extremely cute, even after Josef farted in our faces.

Once we reached the castle, we took an audio tour and the interior was the absolute definition of ornate. It is easy to see why Ludwig’s family wasn’t thrilled with the extent of money that must have been expended in its creation, but it was absolutely gorgeous to behold. This castle was one of the things about this trip I was looking forward to the most, and it absolutely did not disappoint. We had to run to the bridge for a better view of the castle after the tour, since we missed our chance with the group that walked to the top instead of taking the carriage, but it was well worth the effort.

After the castle experience, we traveled back to the University, where we listened to a lecture from the head of the MAN factory that we toured during our first company visit. He was very informative, and very helpful in providing some more hands-on experience and information about the possible future for the MAN brand. It was also very interesting to hear how MAN, similarly to the Volkswagen group, shares information and technology within their group for the betterment of all.
