Elevated Perspectives: Bilbao on Day 5

Today, we didn’t have any hospital visits, but I started off my morning with a cooking class. We made pintxos, Spanish Tortilla, and Goxua, a dessert with puff pastry and cream. Every morning for breakfast at the hotel, I eat Spanish Tortilla, so I loved learning how to make it, and it was even better than the one that is served at the hotel. I also really enjoyed a pintxo that had a hard boiled egg, shrimp, and mayonnaise all on top of a piece of bread. Overall, I liked how interactive the cooking class was. After that, we walked to a food market that had a large variety of things, and we got a little tour of it. I personally did not get anything as I had just eaten at the cooking class, but all of the food looked really good. We then proceeded to get on the Funicular Artxanda where we got to see the city from above. I was surprised how fast the Funicular was, but it took us on an incline way above the city. This was one of my favorite sightseeing places so far on the trip. I thought it was nice that we got a little break from the business/hospital visits, yet we still got to learn about the food and culture today from the cooking class, tour, and new sightseeing.
