Very short day today on the Plus3 trip. It was off to a sad start without the hotel breakfast; however, it was quickly made up by a beautiful day. We headed down to the old theater in Bilbao, which has its theater start on the third floor of the building. We got to learn about the history of the building and see all the intricate designs of the building. We learned about the old smoking room, the man the building is named after, the new additions to the theater (like the widow’s box), and much more. We also learned how the building went through a big fire and a flood but has still stood the test of time. Overall, it was such a cool experience to see an old building that has been through so much and is meaningful to Bilbao. My other plus 3 friends and I were then given the rest of the day to go spring the city and see what Bilbao has to offer for ourselves. I got to visit this bakery with amazing crepes and take a real siesta. I’m about to go out to dinner with my friends and can’t wait to try out more authentic Basque food!
