After a slight delay in the morning, we finally made our way to Yonsei University, where Jinny went to school. The weather forecast had called for rain, but I wasn’t expecting it to feel like typical Pittsburgh weather. When we first arrived and got off the bus, it was pouring, so we waited at the bus stop for a bit until it calmed down.
Unfortunately, it started raining heavily again just as we began walking to the university. We had lunch at the cafeteria, which was much better than the eatery, and then we started our tour. We made our way to the student center, where the tour began. Our tour guide was a first-year student.
Our first stop was the statue of the founder of Yonsei. The base of the statue had bullet holes from when Yonsei was caught in the middle of a battlefield during the Korean War. After that, we walked to the business building, the newest one on campus. It had a nice study space and an area where students often read or take naps. Sadly, our tour was cut short due to the rain, but we had another tour scheduled later in the day. During our free time, I purchased a sweatshirt from the university store.

Later, we toured Professor Cheong’s lab. We first met with her students, who were very kind. We were divided into three groups, and mine toured the lab last, so we spent some time talking with the students beforehand. We spoke with two researchers in the lab who told us about their current study, which focuses on a potential treatment for Alzheimer’s. It was very interesting.
After the tour, we returned to the hotel. I walked to McDonald’s for dinner and then rested for the remainder of the night.
