Today, a group of roughly 10 of us left the hotel at 6:30 AM to embark on a 1 hour bus ride to Bukhasan National Park to do a hike. At the spot, we met up with 2 Pitt alumni who are currently serving for the military and stationed in South Korea. The trek to the beginning of the hike was 30 minutes and was very challenging itself, but once we started, the trail did not ease up. We went up roughly 1400 meters in about a mile. But as we approached the top of the trail, it all became worth it. When at the top, you could see all of Seoul, which is absolutely massive, nestled between the mountains and forest of Korea. Seeing the contrast between skyscrapers and vast amounts of green and mountains was incredible. The panorama view was unreal and this was by far the best hike I have ever been on and the highlight of the trip for me.

Once we finished our descent, which was very hard on my knees, we took a one-hour subway ride to the CoEx Mall to get Shake Shack. On that subway ride, everyone was hangry, very tired, and impatient about the long trip. But once we got that food, it was all worth it. Shake Shack is delicious. After getting food, we returned to the hotel briefly before our cooking class. My feet and legs were super sore, and I was very tired, but I was still excited for the cooking class. At the cooking class, our instructor taught us how to make Bibimbap, a traditional Korean dish that is a rice bowl with a protein, egg, and vegetables. I was partnered to cook with Nate, and the whole process was a lot of fun. The dish was simple to make and delicious to eat, which is ideal for me. After eating the bibimbap bowl, I was exhausted and we got to go back to the hotel for the night for some much-needed rest.
