This morning, my roommate and I started off the day with a good workout. Although the gym was small, we made it work. After grabbing breakfast, we went to beautiful village where some of the royal/wealthy families reside in. While keeping quiet to not disturb the locals, we explored the streets and took lots of pleasant pictures of the architecture and beauty of the plant arrangements. It was interesting to realize that people still live in this village as there houses are still preserved so well and not too modernized. I also noticed a lot of wedding and engagement photos being done in some of the beautiful streets and outside of the homes.
After walking around the village, we went to the Buddha temple. The artwork on the gates and temple area was amazing, along with the lanterns that were arranged by color which hung from ropes. These surrounded the entire temple and light from the sun shined through them, making the ground beneath very colorful. Before lunch, we went to Insadong which was a small shopping street with lots of handcrafted Korean artifacts and souvenirs. Some people got desserts but I was saving room for lunch. For lunch, we stopped at a local restaurant where they served traditional Korean food items. I ordered the hand-made spicy noodles which were delicious. I also put fishcakes on top of my noodles which made it even better.
After eating lunch, we were given the rest of the evening for free time. My friends and I took advantage of this time to go to Hannam-dong, a huge shopping district. Here, I explored through a lot of nice stores and found a cool zip up jacket. For dinner, we ate some decorated hot dogs to feed our American food cravings. To end off the day, we walked around the city and took tons of pictures.
