We were lucky to have another late start and be able to sleep in. Today’s activity was at Yonsei University. We spent the whole day there touring the school. We arrived a little later than planned, so we started with lunch at their cafe. I had a spicy chicken noodle bowl. It was very crowded in the cafeteria and I wasn’t too hungry so I didn’t eat too much of it. After that, we were led around some of the campus by a freshman. We learned about the founder and some of the history of the school. She also told us that the freshmen have a separate campus an hour away in Incheon and have to travel to the main campus by bus if necessary. Eventually we were led to the business building, which wasn’t too interesting to me. Someone else gave us a tour of the bio engineering building later, which was much more interesting.
The best part was definitely seeing the alum who was a professor there and talking with her students. We were able to talk to four of her current students who help in her research lab about all their experiences about school or life in Korea. They were very nice and were able to answer all our questions, even if they were random. The lab was also very interesting and we were told that they were studying alzheimers by using thin slices of mice brains. That was the last of our trip at Yonsei, but we were able to get souvenirs at the gift shop, so I got a zip up jacket. I should mention that it was absolutely pouring all day on and off. I got soaked waiting for the bus, but it was also nice because it was warmer out. I love the rain so I didn’t mind the storms at all. Once we got back, I changed, which was a bad idea, because we walked twenty minutes to Mcdonalds in the pouring rain and got soaked again. It was worth it though and we got to see the Gangnam sign. Hopefully it won’t rain anymore so it doesn’t affect our other activities.
